Description of Problem:

Coabis user IDs and passwords generate 'Incorrect User ID or Password' message on all Coabis workstations on a Coabis network.

Checks:

If the problem is occurring at every Coabis workstation, and the user ID and password are known to be correct, the cause of the problem is likely to be with Oracle.

1. Check the Oracle server is switched on and is operating normally - e.g. ensure it hasn't hung or 'frozen'. If it has been switched off or is operating abnormally, contact your IT Department or reboot the server.

2. If the Oracle server is operating correctly, check the SQL*Plus connection from a Coabis workstation to the Oracle server. If this connection fails, contact your IT Department and/or perform the first check again.

3. If both checks above are ok, check the shortcut for starting Coabis is pointing to the correct database schema name. The start-up shortcut is of the form: <path>\coabis.exe <schema_name>@tnsname. For example, c:\coabis\coabis.exe livecoabis@oracle_server.
