What is Sarah?

Sarah is a pipeline survey reporting application. It enables the import, archiving and reporting of pipeline survey data.

Why Not Use Coabis For Pipelines?

By their nature, pipeline surveys are fundamentally different to structural surveys. Where a structural survey involves known locations, or components (e.g. clamps), a pipeline survey simply records what is found as the pipe is surveyed. Pipeline surveys do not use known location or components – instead, they use KP values to record the location of an incident.

We believe that the best tool for gathering and reporting on pipeline survey data is a dedicated pipeline survey tool – not a modified structural survey application.

Pipeline Details

Details of your pipelines are stored in Sarah – start and end KPs, eastings and northings, etc.

Incidents

Features noted during a survey are called incidents – e.g. spans, debris, etc. Incidents are user-defined – you decide what type of information is to be recorded.

Anomaly Tracking

Anomaly limits are set for different incident types. Automatic data validation and anomaly highlighting can be performed as survey results are imported.

Data-Gathering

Sarah has no provision for logging pipeline survey results. Instead, we believe it is more operationally efficient to allow your survey contractor to gather the survey data in the most efficient manner using their own survey logging tools. Once the survey is complete, the data simply needs to be exported in an ASCII format for import into Sarah.

Reporting

Sarah comes with graphical and tabular reports. Survey data can also be output in the UKOOA P5 report format.

Mapping

Survey results can also be plotted onto Admiralty Raster Charts, using MapInfo Professional in conjunction with Intelliscan's ARCS for GIS. You can also locate incidents nearby specific coordinates.

Sarah can easily display pipeline routes, as logged on different surveys, enabling you to see how the pipe's track has developed over time.

Multimedia Linked Files

Any type of file can be attached to Sarah, including video clips, drawings, digital photographs.

Share Information

Sarah interfaces seamlessly with other applications, including Microsoft Office.

Data Conversion

We have successfully imported data from other software applications into Sarah. We have also imported data from UKOOA P5 reports.
