As Coabis has developed and technology has progressed,
the reporting requirements from users has changed significantly.
In 2001, Shell and Aker Kvaerner began developing a client-specific
reporting function – Coabis.web.
Coabis.web enables users to view, and where
required, edit Coabis data using Internet Explorer. Coabis.web is
currently used by 50+ users within Shell EP Europe, from locations
in the UK, Norway and the Netherlands.

Before Coabis.web was implemented with Shell,
there were a few Coabis ‘super users’ who distributed
Coabis information on request. With Coabis.web, all users who need
to access Coabis information, can do so, without needing to attend
a training course.
Coabis.web accesses the same data as the core
application. This means users have easy access to information entered
in the previous 24 hours. Reports can be sent as HTML pages, or
saved as PDF files.
As an extension of this, Talisman Energy have
opened their Coabis.web to their inspection and verification contractors,
and allow those companies to review and edit anomaly assessments,
for example.
Coabis.web enables Clients to have a customised
reporting tool, formatted to their requirements. There is no change
to the core application underneath, giving the Client the benefit
of an off-the-shelf core application plus the customised reporting
interface.
Being web-based, Coabis.web is ideal for intranets
and remote access. Linked files, drawings, images and movie clips
are all viewable from Coabis.web.
