The Coabis Baseline comprises the building blocks
of the system. The Coabis Baseline is designed to be flexible enough
to cater for various operating requirements, without any requirement
for re-programming.
Components are identified from the client’s
existing in-house "Underwater Maintenance Data Banks"
(UMDB), and entered into Coabis, using the UMDB codes. This ensures
consistency of identification and reporting throughout.
Coding structures are user-defined, and are
tailored to suit the operating company’s particular requirements.
The figure below shows one method of navigating
through component details – several methods are available.
From this tree, users can view an item’s history, including
results, anomalies, photographs, video clips, drawings, etc, in
addition to the as-built data.

Component details can be modified by users with
the relevant security access. All component edits are audited. Any
changes made are propagated to remote sites (e.g. dive support vessels)
by means of the Coabis Transactions, ensuring that all sites are
working with the latest set of Baseline (or UMDB) data.
Although this operator uses Coabis to manage
underwater works, Coabis is used by other operators for structural,
onshore, offshore, underwater and corrosion management works, without
any modification to the application.
For corrosion management, Coabis is equipped
with inspection frequency and corrosion rate calculations, including
CO2 corrosion assessment.
